Go, USA, Go!
Ah, the Olympics.
Athletes from all over the world come together to do all kinds of crazy
sports – some you just wonder why they are even considered sports. Like luge, no offense, but that looks an
awful lot like what we used to do as kids with a sled. Okay, maybe we didn’t have that great track
and didn’t go quite so fast, so maybe it’s different. Cross country skiing, don’t many people do
that every day to get to and from somewhere?
No, I shouldn’t be knocking anyone’s hard work to do what they want to. The important thing is to find a few friends,
turn on the TV and cheer on team USA (or whatever country you’re from
from). And if you feel adventurous, try to
create your own Olympics. A friend and I
did, we played a few games, nothing on the level of those athletes on the TV of
course. We ended up having more than a
few laughs as we ended failing miserably at the games we invented. I ended up with more than a few bruises and
for some reason, my butt really hurts.
Not sure if for the rest of the games we will just relax and watch the
games or if we will try to invent a few more of our own. Either way, this is one time everyone
should set aside differences, join as one and see what it means to be one
nation united for a few moments.
