I will survive - well, I think so...

Okay, it’s a new year. And if you’re reading this that means you survived 2020. And I’m not sure if I should say congratulations or I’m sorry. I’ve been reading a lot of various posts/notes from people and it seems rather mixed how people are feeling at this point. A lot of people are talking about how they failed at everything in this very long year of 2020. But can you say you fell short of the mark when it’s been erased? Let’s face it, there can be no shame in saying ‘I didn’t get to Europe’ or ‘Canada’ or ‘Mexico’ or well, ‘Cleveland’ for that matter. No, not in a year with lockdowns, border closings, flights to nowhere. Nor can you say you failed because you didn’t exercise more, eat right, walk the dog more, apply for that promotion, learn this skill or that or whatever it is you think you should’ve done. However, you can say you failed if you sat back and did nothing the whole year. Okay, I’m seeing, the ‘Wait, what?!’ expressions on your faces right about now. Let me explain.
